Sunday in the Garden

I was thinking about the writings of Aldo Leopold as I gardened today…I’ll share some quotes, as well as some photos from the garden.

“We abuse land because we regard it as a commodity belonging to us. When we see land as a community to which we belong, we may begin to use it with love and respect.” – Aldo Leopold

Dahlia ‘David Howard’
Red dahlia, name unknown
Hydrangea paniculata ‘Pinky Winky’

“Harmony with land is like harmony with a friend; you cannot cherish his right hand and chop off his left.” — Aldo Leopold

Lily ‘Conca d’Or’
Dahlia ‘Twinkle Toes’
